Clifton Goes Retail, offers Affordable Organic Garments, Launches brands "Clifton" and "Mr. Bean"
Online, July 29, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Bangalore, 29th July 2010: The US$ 30 Million Tirupur, Tamilnadu, based apparel manufacturer and exporter, Clifton Export Pvt., Ltd., announced the launch of their retail division Clifton Trends Pvt., Ltd., which will be operating from Bangalore. Clifton Trends will retail three main brands - Clifton, Stump and Clara. "Clifton" will consist of an affordable range of 100% Organic cotton and Bamboo-cotton fiber inner-wear, 'Stump' economy range of T-shirts and inner-wear for men and boys, and 'Clara' an exclusive apparel range for women and girls.
All garments are manufactured in their vertically integrated manufacturing setup in Tirupur having a production capacity of approx. 2 million units per month.
Speaking on their foray into the retail sector, Mr. Naveen Balasubramaniam - Managing Director, Clifton, said, "We wanted to give Indian consumers a range of knitwear that is distinct in itself, by offering premium product at value price. Moreover we want to promote the use of organic cotton. Organic cotton procured from the field to the finished product has to be certified every step of the way, to prove its authenticity. There's no scope for any margin of error - it's uncontaminated all the way. In the near future organic cotton will become the defacto standard for all children's clothing. Incidentally India is one of the world's largest organic cotton producers. All our organic cotton garments are being manufactured as per the standards of Control Union, a Netherlands based certifying authority."

We have the technology and source to procure the yarn and facility to knit. We have in-house designers to create fashionable styles to match the current international trends. The market size of the undergarment sector in India is approx. US$ 1.6 billion (Italian Trade Commission report). We are eyeing a market share of at least 2% of the projected demand" he said.

We will be introducing a range of Mr. Bean branded T shirts for Men, boys and girls in India.
