Clinio Health Centres Launches Helping Hands
Toronto, Canada, June 26, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Clinio Health Centres, one of Canada’s fastest growing providers of physiotherapy and other clinical services, is pleased to announce the launch of its Helping Hands program. Through this program, Clinio is pledging to provide $250,000 in free physiotherapy services to patients in need of rehabilitation services but who lack the financial means to pay for these services themselves.
Background
"Not a day goes by that a patient doesn't tell one of our clinicians about the financial burden that their health conditions put on themselves and their families, and the impossible trade-offs they are forced to make as a result. Patients living in pain, unable to enjoy life because they can't afford care. We are looking forward to providing free treatment to many of these deserving patients through the Helping Hands program, and with the support of our partners, we hope to continue to grow this program in the years ahead,"
Justin Belobaba, Founder and CEO of Clinio
Although Canada’s healthcare system provides access to medical doctors and hospitals, for the vast majority of Canadians, the services provided by physiotherapists and chiropractors are not covered by publically-funded health insurance plans like OHIP in Ontario. While most Canadians have access to private health insurance plans to cover these important services, the Centre for Health Services and Policy Research at the University of British Columbia reports that 40% of Canadians have no such coverage, and many Canadians simply cannot afford to pay for the treatments they need for their acute injuries or serious chronic conditions.
Clinio’s Helping Hands Program
In keeping with the company's most important core value, “Patient Care First,” Clinio developed the Helping Hands program as a way to help ensure that no patient goes without the care they need because of financial restrictions. “Not a day goes by that a patient doesn’t tell one of our clinicians about the financial burden that their health conditions put on themselves and their families, and the impossible trade-offs they are forced to make as a result. Patients living in pain, unable to enjoy life because they can’t afford care. We are looking forward to providing free treatment to many of these deserving patients through the Helping Hands program, and with the support of our partners, we hope to continue to grow this program in the years ahead,” said Justin Belobaba, founder and CEO of Clinio. Nominations are accepted for patients on the company's website.
