Cloud Based Business Services Offered Via SaaS
A new suite of business services is being offered by "Swoopmail" via Cloud based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Services include consolidated email, collaborative scheduling, file sharing, social media, and custom functions for business customers.
Online, October 6, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Swoopmail is offering a new class of customizable and programmable cloud based business services. These services include consolidated email boxes into a single interface, collaborative capabilities for scheduling, calendaring, file sharing, social media, and individually customized business functions associated with each business customer. Swoopmail is only offering their cloud based services to business customers and is not available to the general public.
The business model of Swoopmail is to cater to small businesses to provide Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) to reduce costs related to computer hardware, software, computer facilities, maintenance and support. As part of this business model, the Swoopmail suite of software is designed to be easily customizable and programmable. Custom application development is also being offered to small business customers to provide collaborative interfaces to their specific business functions, and delivering those interfaces using a cloud-based platform.
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), sometimes referred to as "on-demand software," is a software delivery model in which software and its associated data are hosted centrally (typically in the (Internet) cloud) and are typically accessed by users using a thin client, normally using a web browser over the Internet.
One of the most interesting features of Swoopmail's cloud based SaaS suite, is the consolidation of email boxes into a single interface. Each user is able to retrieve email from a variety of sources such as gmail, yahoo, hotmail, and have access to that email from the Swoopmail interface. The user is then able to respond to their email from any source and select where they want their email to be "from". The business customer is also able to direct mail from their internet domain to the Swoopmail system so that it has the businesses domain name associated with each email address. As an example, the consolidated email box feature allows a user to retrieve email sent to their "gmail.com" account, and reply using their company domain email address. So a business customer called "Acme" with an email box of "[email protected]", could respond to emails sent to their "[email protected]" account, and change the "From" address to be their Acme email address "[email protected]", or any of their other email addresses.
The cloud-based nature of Swoopmail's SaaS offering is intended to insure the customers employees will have access to their company business functions from anywhere in the world at any time.
