Cloudsoft Discusses Intelligent Application Mobility Benefits and Use Cases at EclipseCon 2011
Online, March 21, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Cloudsoft Discusses Intelligent Application Mobility Benefits and Use Cases at EclipseCon 2011
WHAT: Alex Heneveld, CTO, and Aled Sage, vice president, engineering at Cloudsoft will be participating in three presentations and a two-hour tutorial at EclipseCon 2011 on March 21-24, 2011 in Santa Clara, Calif.
Heneveld will present a session entitled, "OSGi, Mobility and Policy," discussing how OSGi creates a more agile playing field to application and how services have the ability to be mobile from container to container and across the globe.
Sage will participate in a discussion with Adrian Cole, founder of jclouds.org, about "How We Made a Multi-Cloud, Drag-and-Drop Eclipse Plugin." The session will focus on Cloudsoft's creation of drag-and-drop deployment across multiple clouds using jclouds and the benefits and challenges associated with multi-cloud applications.
Sage will also present the "Developing Globally Distributed Java Applications in Eclipse" session, focusing on the hard scalability issues of writing globally distributed transactional applications. Sage will focus on requirements above and beyond a standard database of caching solutions, highlighting the need to control and optimize the location of processing and difficulties that this creates.
Heneveld and Sage will join forces with Cole during a two-hour tutorial about "Intelligent Application Mobility with Monterey Spring Edition." Participants will learn the ease and fundamentals of programming when application mobility is leveraged. The tutorial will explain application mobility as a design principle and all aspects of the build-run-manage lifecycle for systems which can benefit from this mobility.

About Cloudsoft Corporation
Cloudsoft Corporation is a venture-backed software company dedicated to ensuring that enterprises can apply the benefits of cloud computing to the large-scale, distributed, transactional systems that underpin their business. Utilizing Intelligent Application Mobility, the foundation of Cloudsoft's Monterey platform, they can rapidly overcome roadblocks to cloud adoption and migrate their business critical workloads into the cloud. Currently Monterey supports both the Eclipse Classic and the SpringSource Tool Suite development environments. Monterey extends VMware's vFabric Cloud Application Platform, enabling the logical partitioning vFabric applications into discrete components and managing the dynamic deployment and migration of these components at runtime within and across clouds - private or public - with no disruption or interruption to service. It is the only solution that is geographically aware and automatically optimizes infrastructure utilization and governance based on policies.
The Monterey Developer Edition is available free of charge as either a download bundled with Eclipse Classic or as an Eclipse Plugin. This edition allows developers to build, run and manage Monterey applications or services in either a simulator or, using their own credentials, in public clouds such as Amazon EC2 or GoGrid.
