ClubC Online Announces the Official Launch of Its Service on Facebook
An exclusive philanthropic social club brings Hollywood-style dating to the largest online user community.
Online, January 26, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Los Angeles, CA - According to the Business Insider, women in their 20-s are still hesitant in using online dating services. Max Bornton, the founder of ClubC Online, believes the reason is that the existing dating websites are just not selective enough.
"If you are a young attractive woman with options, you would not necessarily want to meet some guy only because he is white, single, 18-35, and likes to ski," said Bornton, "On the other hand, if you are at Playhouse [Hollywood's upscale nightclub] on a Saturday night, you may want to mingle with men there, because you know that one has to either pay for the bottle service or know someone important to get in."
ClubC Online adopted that Hollywood nightclub selection model for the online dating industry. It uses patent pending technology to filter members interested in meeting someone based on their social rankings and donation amounts. When a woman (or a man) indicates that she wants to meet someone, other members can pledge donations to meet that person. The system then sorts all interested members and presents the top seven candidates to the woman to choose from. If the woman decides to meet with one of them, a portion of the corresponding pledged amount will benefit a charity.
"Some found the system controversial and thought that the selection process partly based on donation amounts was unfair," said the founder, "but fairness was not our goal. Instead, our process is based on behavioral sciences research and closely resembles how people meet each other at offline venues."
In addition to the member selection process, ClubC Online also utilizes the Hollywood nightclub-style promotion strategy to attract its prospective members. It recruits nightclub promoters and event organizers to market ClubC services to their A-list clients.
"Recently, we have also partnered with Sergio Curiel, who is a prominent figure in Hollywood's nightlife and promotes various events, including the famous parties at Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion," said Stephen Wachtel, VP, Business Development.
ClubC Online launched its services on the Facebook social network. The new application streamlines the signup process for prospective members and allows the existing members to share some of their profile details with other people. New members can join ClubC without creating a separate profile, uploading photos, or filling out forms.
