CME & Exam Preparation at ACOFP Event
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill., August 21, 2018 (Newswire.com) - The ACOFP Intensive Update & Board Review in Osteopathic Family Medicine will take place Aug. 24-26, 2018 at the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois. 32.5 Category 1-A CME credits are anticipated, including 9.5 Category 1-A extra credits beginning on Aug. 23. The educational event is designed for practicing family physicians including those who are preparing for certification or re-certification board examinations, as well as osteopathic and allopathic family medicine faculty and residents in dually accredited or ACGME accredited family medicine programs.
This course provides a patient-care focused review by experienced osteopathic family medicine clinician-educators, with an updated curriculum reflecting the latest developments in the specialty. It will cover major family medicine concepts such as mental health disorders, sports medicine, infectious diseases, pediatrics, addiction and more. Sessions are designed to introduce new and innovative osteopathic modalities as well as help participants improve existing skills. Daily breakout sessions utilizing a hands-on approach will provide a solid review and practice of osteopathic manipulative therapy (OMT).
This ACOFP course was extremely beneficial. It was like attending all 4 years of medical school in 3 1/2 days! Very comprehensive and easy to understand. The presenters were knowledgeable and kept me engaged; and the hands-on OMT review was terrific. The helpful binder of handouts will serve me in both studying for the boards and as a reference for the future. I would highly recommend this course if you need a quick and concise refresher.
