This symposium is supported by an educational grant from Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. and will feature presentations by W. Presenting an international symposium is nothing new for CME Outfitters. In addition to creating and delivering award-winning CME in the United States, CME Outfitters has been steadily amassing experience in the global medical education arena. The global CME environment is a study in transformation, but current indicators suggest that emerging CME accrediting bodies and guidelines will closely mirror those of the United States, making CMEO's domestic expertise especially relevant in the international arena. Specifically, CME Outfitters has experience working in the following international locations: Australia, Canada, Chile, Hong Kong, Mexico and Central America, Taiwan, and Turkey.

CME Outfitters' experiences have provided first-hand perspective on the complexities and opportunities inherent in the development and delivery of international medical education. CME Outfitters staff have creatively adapted and sometimes improvised to handle the following challenges:
• Collaborating with international key opinion leaders (KOLs)
• Language and cultural barriers
• Travel, meeting planning, and related logistics
• Partnering with international professional societies and accrediting bodies
• International direct marketing and publicity
• Technology issues related to varying levels of online access by international partners and participants
• Shipping, mailing, and customs requirements
• Access problems due to time zone differences
• Culturally sensitive translation services

CME Outfitters is committed to strengthening its already solid competency in the international CME arena, and is well-positioned to deliver expert accreditation, educational, logistical, and production services in this exciting and dynamic area.
