Mergers & Acquisitions Firm Calder Capital, LLC is extremely pleased to announce that Waséyabek Development Company, LLC (WDC) has successfully acquired CNC Machining Manufacturer Re-Source Industries of Muskegon, MI.

Waséyabek initially acquired Nunica, MI-based Baker Engineering in 2017. Seeking to expand, WDC engaged with Calder Capital in 2019 to locate a synergistic acquisition opportunity. Calder sourced numerous acquisition opportunities over the course of a six-month search process. Re-Source emerged as the leading candidate for WDC.

James TenBrink, Vice President of Baker Engineering, said about the acquisition, “Re-Source Industries checked every box on our list. We were seeking to grow our West Michigan manufacturing presence and specifically with a high-volume complex part CNC machining acquisition. We’re excited to see how these companies can meld. Thank you to Patrick Robey and Calder Capital for their persistence in showing us numerous off-market opportunities. I was impressed with the volume of targets that we were presented with.”

Paul Kuyt has been president of Re-Source Industries since its inception in 1995. Kuyt is proud to have fostered a company that not only creates quality products in an efficient process but also is an excellent place to work, where staff members are treated like family. “I wasn’t necessarily looking to sell when Calder contacted me, but I knew I eventually needed a partner to help the company grow and prosper beyond my involvement,” said Kuyt, “and I’m just glad to have found a buyer that will continue the culture that we’ve built here. WDC and Baker are definitely the right fit and have the right resources to help Re-Source prosper well into the future.”

Calder Capital, LLC represented WDC and sourced the seller. According to Calder Managing Partner Max Friar, the closing was the team’s 21st of 2020. “Despite the pandemic, we continue to successfully close transactions and grow our firm. Buyers continue to be very aggressive in their pursuit of quality sellers. We are fighting hard to accelerate our growth and enjoying the challenges that arise on the way.”
