Kelsey and the Coast Line Events team participated in the mobile food distribution effort during the first week of August. As the director explained, “This incredible program distributes over 8,000 pounds of food four times a month at locations in Orange, Garden Grove, and Placentia. We were happy to offer our support and look forward to doing so many more times in the future.”

The team found the experience so rewarding that they will be giving back to The Friendly Center on a monthly basis. “It was truly an empowering experience, and I feel our team is much stronger than it was before we contributed,” Kelsey added. “When people come together for a worthy cause, it inspires them to spread positivity to other aspects of their lives. Kelsey and the rest of the Coast Line Events executive team recognize the many benefits of supporting the community. One good way for professionals to assist the community is through a holiday food drive. “This is one of the easiest and best methods for making a real difference,” Kelsey added. “All you really have to do is ask your team members to gather non-perishable food items for donation to area food banks. From there, you just have to set aside an hour or so to transport everything you collect. It doesn’t require a huge investment of time or resources and it really brightens the season for everyone involved.”

Individuals can also look for ways to apply their specific skills to help the community. As Kelsey explained, “You may not think your technical skills can be valuable when it comes to giving back, but you might be surprised how much demand there is for them. Teaching classes to those who have been out of the workforce for a while is a great way to leverage professional acumen and produce transformative change.”
