CodeProject Gives Away $10,000 in Prizes to Celebrate Its Ten Millionth Member
Celebrations also included member meet-ups around the world to toast the CodeProject community
Online, September 13, 2013 (Newswire.com) - For CodeProject, one of the world's largest online communities of software developers, it has been a summer full of celebrations. Members from around the globe organized parties in countries such as Switzerland, Israel, India, Brazil and the United States. Members met, shared memories and celebrated the community that they have helped build. CodeProject also engaged its members by creating a "why do you love CodeProject?" contest that gave members the chance to create a video or submit a photo meme for a chance to win a $10,000 prize pack.
"Reaching ten million members is a brilliant achievement and just demonstrates the work and commitment that Chris and the CodeProject team have to ensure the site doesn't go stale. Competition on the net for customers/consumers of a service is greater than ever and to keep interest going is a challenge," said Dave Auld, CodeProject member for over 10 years. "There is still a lot to do, but with the advent of the sister sites, the great competitions, and speculation of future functionality I am sure the community will just get stronger and bigger."
"CodeProject is extremely important to me, and has been a constant source of enjoyment since I first saw it," said Sacha Barber, UK-based Software Developer. "I love the people that run it (truly great guys), and I have become personal friends with one or three of the fellow authors which I think is great. It is that sort of community that CodeProject has given me."
In honour of the celebrations, CodeProject gave away developer dream prize packs valued at over $10,000 containing software tools and products donated by over 25 technology organizations. Prizes were donated by 1105 Media, Aspose, Aurigma, CloudBees, ComponentOne, DBI, Gambrell Software, Gnostic Information Technologies, Gudu Software, Infratulation, Intersoft Solutions, jqChart, Klocwork, LearntoProgram, Liquid Technologies, LogicNP Software, Manning, Novalys, Red Gate, SoftFluent, Soraco, and TestingWhiz. Novalys is also giving away a special version of Visual Guard to CodeProject members for free, designed in honour of the Ten Million Member Celebration.
Membership is free at CodeProject, and provides unlimited access to the articles, discussions, downloadable code, and time-tested how-to information. Professional software developers worldwide rely on the crowd-sourced, peer-written and peer-reviewed technical content on crucial subjects such as apps, mobile, cloud, iOS, Windows, Android, SharePoint, touch UIs, and hundreds more.
