Coen Brothers - Different Or Just Geniuses?
Everyone loves the Coen Brothers movies, right? I mean who doesn't love Raising Arizona, The Big Lebowski & Fargo? Well, not everyone
Online, February 1, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Okay, I'll say it right up front. I Frikkin love the Coen Brothers. Sometimes it's taken me a few times seeing some of their movies to FULLY appreciate them, but in the end I fall in love. Read more....

They have become renowned for their unique directing style and their latest big screen outing, True Grit, has received an impressive ten nominations at next month's Academy Awards. Despite the critical acclaim for True Grit - which has been recognized in Oscar categories including best picture, best director and best actor - some people have claimed it isn't as good as previous movies made by the Coen brothers.
Ethan finds comments like these frustrating because he and his brother make every effort to ensure each film is different from the last.
"That's actually surprised me," Ethan replied when asked how he feels about critics saying True Grit is not Coen-like enough. "I mean we always try to make each one as unCoen-like as possible - whatever that means. People ask you about your signature on the movie, or whatever. Nobody wanted to sign the damn movie. You know what I mean? We're just trying to do justice to the story. We're not trying to pee on it."
Joel and Ethan insist they were happy to be regarded as outsiders in the movie business for years. Even though they have now been accepted and honoured for their work, they still find it strange to attend award ceremonies.
"We spent a lot of time on the outside initially by necessity," Joel explained.
"Suddenly this great hand reaches down and deposits you at the Academy awards," Ethan added in an interview with British newspaper The Guardian. "It's frightening. And disconcerting. You wonder what you did wrong."

Brandon back.
I mean , come on! People are always trying to find something negative to say. Not "coen brothers" enough. How about just appreciating a film for what it is. Allright, sorry for the rant. Oh, and I loved True Grit if it wasn't obvious. Ha
