Coffman Engineers Announces Miyashiro and Associates Will Join Firm
HONOLULU, February 9, 2021 (Newswire.com) - Coffman Engineers, Inc. (Coffman), a multidiscipline engineering consulting firm, announced it has reached a definitive agreement with Honolulu-based mechanical engineering firm Miyashiro and Associates, Inc. to join Coffman. The asset purchase agreement is planned to close on March 11, 2021.
Incorporated in 1994, Miyashiro and Associates is a Hawaii-owned and operated consulting mechanical engineering firm providing services throughout the Pacific Region. Miyashiro and Associates has a varied background in the planning and design of mechanical systems for many facility types. The firm's experience in the military, commercial, and hospitality markets aligns well with Coffman's focus in Hawaii and throughout the Pacific Region.
The two companies have existing relationships among staff members, are pursuing projects together, and share some of the same clients. Through discussions that began in 2019, both firms agreed that joining forces would benefit clients and provide additional opportunities for employees.
"Miyashiro and Associates is a great group and owner Nick Allday is a respected local business leader. It is important for us to find partners who share Coffman's vision, business culture, and technical excellence. We have found that with Miyashiro and Associates," John Thielst, Vice President, Managing Principal of Coffman Engineers Honolulu and Guam.
"Our goal has always been to be a client-focused, solutions-oriented company. The combination of Miyashiro and Associates and Coffman brings relationships together, broadens our capabilities, and deepens our exposure in existing and new markets," said Nick Allday, owner of Miyashiro and Associates. "We believe our clients will benefit tremendously from this partnership."
Nick Allday, owner of Miyashiro and Associates, will join Coffman as a principal and join Bill Lee, department manager and principal in leading the Honolulu mechanical engineering department. Four additional employees from Miyashiro and Associates will join the Honolulu office after the deal closes.
Dave Ruff, CEO and President of Coffman Engineers, stated, "I am excited to join forces with Miyashiro and Associates. Nick has built a respected company in Hawaii and I am particularly excited to have him continue that legacy of excellence and service with Coffman. I can't think of a better partnership for the Honolulu office and the mechanical group."
