College Admissions Assistance Awards 2016 Judy Simpson Memorial Scholarship to Natasia Martin

College Admissions Assistance (CAA) has awarded the 2016 Judy Simpson Memorial Scholarship to Natasia Martin.  She will receive $1,500 in memory of a founding regional director of CAA. Judy Simpson was passionate about helping students and families through the challenges of the college admissions process. She enrolled hundreds of students in our program before she lost her battle with cancer. Now, CAA awards this scholarship each year in her honor.

A member of CAA since January of 2015, Natasia will attend Susquehanna University this Fall to pursue a degree in Neuroscience with a concentration in English. In the future, she wants to go to law school and pursue a career as an attorney.

While in the CAA program, Natasia used all of the different services at her disposal.  She cited our timely email reminders as the best part of the service. She spoke to many members of our coaching team for assistance with careers, colleges, and financial aid matters. She also used our tutoring service many times, especially when she was in the middle of her Calculus class. According to Natasia, CAA “helped [her] stay organized, stay on top of things and helped keep everything in one place.” She also found the career and college research tools useful in narrowing down her choices, especially our My Fit feature which helped her determine the ideal college to attend. Our coaching team selected her as the scholarship winner in recognition of her thorough use of our program as well as her accomplishments.

Natasia’s dedication to academics and her community are highly commendable. A member of the National Honor Society and her school’s Student Council, she is particularly proud of her involvement with Big Brothers Big Sisters. However, her most impactful role is being the founding member of the NAACP chapter at her high school. This year she served as the Vice President and helped to organize a Black History Month Fair at the school. She organized vendors and worked with the guest speakers, who addressed the group about racial inequality as well as social justice issues.

When asked what advice she would offer younger students, she encouraged them to make sure they mentally prepared for the transition from high school to college. The coaches at College Admissions Assistance are confident that Natasia is well on her way to a bright future!

CAA is a private educational-service organization that provides expert college planning help to students and families nationwide. These services would be out of reach for many families, but we have successfully combined technology, a caring team of highly trained college coaches, and years of experience into a program that’s affordable to families in need of our assistance.  For more information, please visit www.caaconnect.com
