Colonial Care Center Hires Carolyn Boggess as New Director of Nursing

Colonial Care Center is pleased to announce the recent hire of Carolyn Boggess, who will be the facility’s new Director of Nursing.  

Ms. Boggess received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a dual Master’s Degree in Nursing and Business in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix. She has been in the healthcare industry since 1963 when she was a Red Cross volunteer in Hawaii. After becoming a nurse in 1966, she joined the Air Force and worked as a Medical Corpsman with a total healthcare experience of over 45 years. She obtained her Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 1974, followed by her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s. Boggess has worked in long-term health for 32 years and has been a Director of Nursing for 30 years. In Boggess’ free time, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and her grandson. She enjoys reading, painting and horseback riding.

"My goal is to teach and support the nursing department in meeting and hopefully exceeding the state and federal regulations and guidelines," she said. "I plan to work with the staff to achieve a deficiency free survey in addition to helping residents feel at home here."

Boggess’ responsibilities at Colonial Care Center will include overseeing the medical care of every resident and ensuring their individual needs are being met. She will work directly with the staff and residents. Boggess said she is happy to be part of the Colonial Care Center family and will work to continue providing quality resident care. “My goal is to teach and support the nursing department in meeting and hopefully exceeding the state and federal regulations and guidelines,” she said. “I plan to work with the staff to achieve a deficiency free survey in addition to helping residents feel at home here.” Boggess also said she is glad to have the opportunity to be working with such an amazing and talented Administrator.
