Kenosha, WI, June 9, 2015 (Newswire.com) - The Kenosha Public Museum will once again be hosting the 51st Annual Friends of the Museums Art Fair from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday, July 19. This FREE family summertime event will offer more than 100 artist booths, displaying their wares, both inside and outside of the Kenosha Public Museum. In addition to the fine art and high quality crafts, food will be available for purchase. Live music will be playing throughout the day, provided by a variety of musicians for the visitors’ entertainment.
In conjunction with this Annual Summer Art Fair, the Kenosha Unified School District will be presenting their Student Art and Music Exhibit located inside the Civil War Museum.
Kids have their own special place at this favorite summertime event. The Kid’s Art Tent will offer children of all ages the opportunity to bring out their inner Da Vinci by creating a piece of free original artwork all their own.
The Kenosha Public Museum, Civil War Museum and Dinosaur Discovery Museum will be having their Annual Christmas in July Sale from July 17 – 19, 2015, offering 15% off most items in the gift shops. This is the perfect opportunity to get the person who has everything a unique and special gift. Gift certificates, are available in any denomination, and may be used toward gift shop purchases, Museum memberships, or one of the fun and interesting classes and workshops offered by the Museums throughout the year.
The Kenosha Public Museum serves as the perfect venue for this Annual Event. Located just 25 minutes from Milwaukee, and 55 minutes from Chicago, set on the picturesque shoreline of Lake Michigan, the museum shares the scenic campus with the impressive Civil War Museum. Both of these aesthetically pleasing, beautifully designed structures, have a grand view of Lake Michigan, and are available for rental to the public for events, gatherings, and parties of all kinds. The third in this trio of Wisconsin tourist destinations, the Dinosaur Discovery Museum is just a short nostalgic trolley car ride away, and is a favorite field trip destination for both students and teachers.
From great works of art, to an amazing 360° Civil War Movie, priceless relics to the underground railroad, and flies to fur, these exceptional institutions offer amazing permanent exhibits, as well as many special exhibits, events, workshops and shows throughout the year. The experienced staff and volunteers are trained to guide you through the museums with ease, encouraging questions and interactions, intertwining the interesting and entertaining aspects of the museum, with the importance and relevance of the chosen curriculum, and learning more about their local history.
