Commonwealth Shakespeare Company Chooses Talamas Broadcast Equipment for Audio Support of "Othello" on Boston Common.
Online, July 29, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The Commonwealth Shakespeare Company again chose Talamas to assist with the group's popular production of "Shakespeare on the Common," an annual series of free performances that take place outdoors at the Parkman Bandstand on Boston Common.
As in previous years, Talamas is providing the Sennheiser wireless microphones, Motorola two-way radios, Telex wireless intercom and RTS hard wired intercom, as well as myriad accessories that CSC will need to assure both seamless audio communication among its technical crew and clear, flawless sound from the performers on stage.
The Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's free performances on Boston Common have become a much loved summer tradition in the city. Past performances have included The Comedy of Errors, As You Like It, A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Taming of The Shrew.
This year's production of Othello, regarded as the most moving of Shakespeare's great tragedies, is expected to draw an estimated 100,000 people over 18 performances. Performances take place now through August 15, Tuesday through Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 7pm.
CSC has been relying on Talamas for the production's elaborate audio equipment package and on-site technical support for seven seasons. "It's become such a tremendous cultural resource in the city," said company founder Dave Talamas. "We're delighted to be assisting with a production that evokes the quality and depth of Shakespeare's work."
