Communication Between Home and Schools Increases With New App

Schools and parents who work hand-in-hand see the best results when it comes to student performance.

That’s why eSchoolView, a creator of custom websites for districts and educational organizations across the country, is partnering with SchoolInfoApp to provide easier access to information. The Columbus, Ohio-based company turned to the app developers to enhance its service to clients through its content management system.

"School systems have limited resources and it makes sense for us to provide services that help people work smarter and better for the benefit of their students and communities."

Rob O'Leary, Executive Director

“This literally puts a school and its district into the palms of people’s hand,” eSchoolView Executive Director Rob O’Leary said. “Our clients see so much value in this tool because it helps them provide timely information in an efficient manner, particularly with the ability for push notifications.”

The national rise of handheld devices and decline in sales of consumer PC systems underscores the need for schools and districts to adapt to how information is provided, O’Leary said. The SchoolInfoApp will help clients meet that need.

In addition to news alerts, click-to-call phone numbers, maps and event calendars, the SchoolInfoApp:

  • Can be tailored to a district’s brand
  • Uses a cloud-based software through the CMS
  • Is available for iOS, Android and web-based devices
  • Can translate information into 15 languages
  • Features HallPass for districts with BYOD programs
  • Will manage social media posts for Facebook pages and Twitter feeds
  • Has been ranked as a top 100 product by District Administration two years in a row

The first round of districts using the app will launch early this fall. Like all of eSchoolView’s other products, the SchoolInfoApp connects seamlessly with its content management system eliminating multiple logins and service vendors.

Efficiency is key,” O’Leary said. “School systems have limited resources and it makes sense for us to provide services that help people work smarter and better for the benefit of their students and communities.”

In fact, one of eSchoolView's newest products aimed at enhancing parent engagement was recently launched in connection with the creators of ProgressBook. OneView — a one-of-a-kind solution to manage student data created by eSchoolView — combines parent portal features, athletic forms, online enrollment for new students and forms for currently enrolled students in one complete package, eliminating the need for parents and teachers to have multiple accounts.

eSchoolView was created in 2008 and has offices in Arizona and North Carolina. Its revenue growth lands the company in the top half (at 1907) of Inc. Magazine’s 5000 list of fastest growing companies in the U.S. for the second consecutive year. SchoolInfoApp serves more than 600 schools and districts.
