Concepcion Flores Celebrates 101St Birthday at Texan Nursing & Rehab of Gonzales

Concepcion Flores will be celebrating her 101st birthday this December 8th at Texan Nursing & Rehab of Gonzales, where she is currently living.

Concepcion Flores will be celebrating her 101st birthday this December 8th at Texan Nursing & Rehab of Gonzales, where she is currently living.

Born in 1914 to Delfina Ortega and Manuel Rivera, in El Paso, Texas. She married Jose Flores in 1950 at the age of 36.  Her husband was a widowed father of 7, and Concepcion and Jose went on to adopt three more children. Now she has 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Flores went to seminary and became a mission worker. She later became a kindergarten and head start teacher. She moved to Gonzales and started 7 churches with her husband, some of which are still operating in Kyle, Seguin and San Marcos.

She enjoys teaching the word of God and when asked about living to 101, Flores says, “Thank God!”
