Confusion Creates Viral Buzz

Las Vegas Hip Hop artist Splitbreed's new track release gets confused with Kevin Rudolf from Cash Money Records

"Take Me Away", the new release from Hip-Hop artist Splitbreed, went viral within a few hours resulting in over 126,000 views when it was released to the public on Friday. Listeners thought the new release featured Kevin Rudolf, a singer-songwriter and record producer signed with Cash Money Records and Universal Republic. Rudolf's debut single, "Let It Rock" featuring Lil Wayne, was certified triple platinum by the RIAA on May 5, 2009. It reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The new release from Splitbreed is guaranteed to turn some attention from major labels even if Kevin Rudolf was never part of the production.

Splitbreed's Kalani Mo'e said in an interview with the band's agent Michael Young, "Kevin Rudolf was not part of the production. I don't know if the confusion is a blessing or just luck. It sure couldn't hurt." Splitbreed is known throughout Europe as one of the hottest coming of age Hip-Hop artists of this century playing gig's from Hawaii, Las Vegas clubs to a recent tour in Copenhagen. The band's home is Las Vegas.
