Connect Highlights the Importance of Charities
The team members at Connect are committed to supporting charities that are meaningful to them. During the final quarter of 2015, they've made several philanthropic efforts. They also look forward to seasonal celebrations.
Irving, TX, December 25, 2015 (Newswire.com) - “In November, for the entire week beginning on Veteran’s Day, we donated 10 percent of our profits to Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA),” said Rachel, Connect’s CEO. “It accumulated to $850, and we were all quite pleased to assist such an amazing organization.”
She explained that IAVA helps veterans connect with each other. It ensures that they have a strong and supportive community. The group also provides advocacy and raises awareness of the issues many veterans and their families face. They include an overwhelmed VA system, mental health injuries, and insufficient health care for female veterans. Additionally, IAVA provides access to an extensive career services program. They are connected to potential employers, mentors, and other resources.
"In addition to our charitable giving projects this time of year, the holidays add another element to the Connect DFW culture,"
Rachel , CEO
“Prior to the IAVA donation – for a week in October − we donated 10 percent of our profits to Susan G. Komen Dallas County,” Rachel stated. “The contribution amounted to $1000, and we were honored to offer our support. This is a cause that is close to our hearts and helps drive us every day.”
According to Rachel, Susan G. Komen Dallas County was founded in 1992. Since then, the organization has invested over $22 million in breast health services for disadvantaged residents of the county. It funds diagnostic testing, mammograms, treatment, and education and support efforts. Funds – including over $2.5 million in five years – are also invested in breast cancer research.
“Connect has had a great quarter so far, but we aren’t finished yet,” Rachel indicated. “Right now, we’re focusing the holiday season on a toy drive. We believe in maintaining a company culture around philanthropic contributions, so our support for charitable agencies in our community will only continue to grow.”
Connect CEO Describes the Impact of the Holiday Season on Company Culture
“In addition to our charitable giving projects this time of year, the holidays add another element to the Connect culture,” Rachel continued. “The companies we serve are busiest during this season, which means we are exceptionally busy as well. We combat the chaos and stress with our own celebrations.”
Rachel concluded by pointing out that the team’s holiday gatherings give her perfect opportunities to recognize her team members and express her appreciation for their hard work and commitment to the firm. “They foster greater cohesiveness, which many people value more than vacation time or other benefits. It cultivates loyalty – one of our defining qualities.”
