(Bristol, CT)--- Connecticut Community Care, Inc. (CCCI) ranked number one in the category of medium employers (25-249 employees) to work for in The NonProfit Times supplement "50 Best Nonprofits to Work for in 2010." CCCI ranked number five out of the 50 top nonprofits nationwide.

The "50 Best Nonprofits to Work for in 2010" supplement appeared in the April 2010 issue of The NonProfit Times, the leading national business publication for nonprofit management. The NonProfit Times partnered with Best Companies Group to find organizations where employees enjoyed going to work, and therefore, delivered on the organization's mission.

"I am so thrilled that we ranked number one in the medium-employer category. Without the wonderful work that our employees do serving the aging and disability communities, we would not be celebrating our 30th anniversary of incorporation this year. It's fantastic that our employees think Connecticut Community Care, Inc. (CCCI) to be the best place to work. What an honor this is," said Molly Rees Gavin, CCCI president.

Employees of participating organizations were emailed a link to an online survey, which they were asked to complete. The survey consisted of 70 statements, allowing employees to rate their responses on a 5-point scale; from disagree strongly to agree strongly. In addition, there were two open-ended questions: (1) why the company is one of the best nonprofits to work for? and (2) what can be improved upon within the organization? Best Companies Group, the third-party agency who emailed employees the survey, tabulated the confidential and anonymous questionnaires.

"Seventy-five percent of an organization's score was compiled from employee input with the remaining 25% coming from the information Human Resources provided Best Companies Group. Human Resources completed an employer survey that asked about organizational policies, practices, demographics, benefits and community service. It called for our answers to be clear and to the point," Deborah Bradley, CCCI director of HR stated.
