Constance Anderson Takes the Helm as President of the Center for Strategic Economic Studies and Institutional Development

The Center for Strategic Economic Studies and Institutional Development (“The Center”) announced today that Constance Anderson is the organization’s new president. The Center provides education and solutions to small business owners in underserved communities. Anderson’s business acumen, expertise in strategic planning and collaboration, as well as her experience in community development and local non-profits make her the perfect fit for The Center to carry The Center’s mission into the future.

Anderson brings over 20 years of experience in the banking world to her role new role at The Center, most recently as Director of the Pacific Coast Regional Small Business Development Center and VP of Northern Trust Bank and California Federal Bank. In her tenure at Pacific Coast, she hosted, attended, co-sponsored and participated in programs and panel discussions at over 100 education and economic development events for new and existing small businesses. And last year, she and her team did a milestone 1,000 private sessions with business owners.

Anderson has also served on multiple Executive Boards of non-profit organizations, including California Association for Micro Enterprise Opportunity, Neighborhood Housing Services of Los Angeles, YWCA of Greater Los Angeles and Urban Financial Services Coalition. She has also been a member of the Minority Business Development Agency at the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Office, National Association of Women-Owned-Women Owned Business, and the National Association of Female Executives.

In her new role as President, Anderson looks forward to working to make The Center the premier supporter of small businesses through technical assistance and lending. She stresses the importance of working individually with each business that seeks The Center’s aid to find out what they need, from software to accounting, to program solutions, to an experienced sounding board.
