Consulting Firm Cognitive Technologies Earns WBE Certification
Online, November 17, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Cognitive Technologies-a consulting firm specializing in project management, collaborative processes, and organizational effectiveness for the federal government and Fortune 1000 companies-has passed a rigorous certification process to become a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE). This national certification was awarded by the Women's Business Council Southwest, a regional certifying partner of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
WBENC's national standard of certification is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. WBENC also provides information on certified women's businesses to purchasing managers. WBENC certification is accepted by the majority of major corporations across the U.S. including AT&T, Exxon Mobil Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Pfizer, Inc., and Lockheed Martin Corporation.
"Cognitive Technologies has extensive project management and process expertise and a long history of project success," notes Cognitive Technologies' CEO, Dr. Karen McGraw. "Receiving the WBENC certification is an honor because of the rigorous process it requires. This certification makes us an even better choice for prime contractors and corporate entities that value diversity and superior work quality."
By including women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier/vendor diversity programs.
Since Dr. McGraw returned to the helm of CEO this year, Cognitive Technologies has earned several other major certifications including becoming a Texas Historically Underutilized Business (Texas HUB), a Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), and a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE). This combination of major certifications has allowed Cognitive Technologies to earn select business contracts including a recently awarded two-year IT Staff Augmentation Contract (ITSAC) with the State of Texas.
