Contemporary Classical Clubnight With Live Music and DJs @ The Macbeth, London 7th December
Online, November 17, 2009 (Newswire.com) - This month, Nonclassical features the very first and the most recent uses of both Turntables and Prepared Piano. Gabriel Prokofiev's Concerto for Turntables (recorded by DJ Yoda and the Heritage Orchestra and recently released on Nonclassical - http://www.myspace.com/nonclassicalmusic) will be performed in a specially reworked format by DJ Switch. The evening will also feature John Cage's Imaginary Landscape No1, the first piece of music ever to use Turntables as a musical instrument. Leon Michener will be performing some of John Cage's seminal works for prepared piano as well as his own compositions on prepared Fender Rhodes. Also performing on the night will be The Post Trio, and DJ support from G Prokofiev & Richard Lannoy.
DJ Switch is the reigning DMC World Supremacy Champion and considered to be one of the best scratch DJs on the planet. He recently performed the concerto live with the Heritage Orchestra @ The De La Warr Pavilion.
