The Official 75th Sturgis Rally Campground, Whitewood Campground and Event Center, is pleased host Brulé for multiple nights. The Whitewood Campground and Event Center has announced that Brulé, a Native American adult/rock band, will play two shows: August 2nd and August 5th, both starting at 3:00p The concert is one of many events that will be hosted at The Whitewood Campground and Event Center located at 596 Whitewood service road, Whitewood, South Dakota 57793.

Brulé founder Paul LaRoche grew up playing instruments as an adopted child in Minnesota. But, when his adopted parents passed away, his wife discovered his true heritage. He was from a Lakota Native American family. He was reunited with some of his biological family, and he was inspired to create a new brand of music.

"Many Rally goers remember us as the small Native American group that performed on main-street Sturgis during the 1997 Rally. They have followed us all these years and will enjoy seeing how the group has transformed over the years."

LaRoche produced three albums the first year, and he was set to go on a solo tour when his daughter Nicole suggested joining him. Since then, the band has grown to include his son, and three more members – six total – and has released twenty albums over the past twenty years including albums by Nicole LaRoche, Shane LaRoche, and AIRO (The American Indian Rock Opera).

Based out of South Dakota, Brulé has the opportunity to show the Sturgis rally-goers what Contemporary Native American music and tradition dance are about.

“Many Rally goers remember us as the small Native American group that performed on main-street Sturgis during the 1997 Rally.  They have followed us all these years and will enjoy seeing how the group has transformed over the years”.

The band is globally recognized. It has sold over a million CDs worldwide, and it has won numerous awards including Best Outstanding Performance by the First American’s in the Arts Awards, three-time Group of the Year and two-time Best Instrumental CD by the Native American Music Awards.  The group is best known for their 2007 “Concert for reconciliation of the cultures” held at the Mt Rushmore amphitheater and continues national PBS broadcasts to this day.

“Having the Brulé show at our venue will create a different energy than our other acts,” said Marketing Director, Kristen Voll. “Our hope is to bring interest to a lot of people, and to have a diverse environment.”
