Insights of Computext

Context Analytics (CA) has released its new product Computext. Computext is used to retrieve impactful information from financial documents with higher reliability and accuracy than standard artificial intelligence.

How does it work? In the most basic sense, Computext goes into filings from both domestic and international companies and searches and tags relevant sentences for specific financial topics. Computext uses documents in CA’s Machine Readable Filings (MRF, currently over 1.5 million documents), Global Machine Readable Filings (GMRF, currently over 1.25 million documents), and S&P Earnings Call Transcripts extracting sentences on items from Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements. The extracted sentences are labeled with specific financial items, additional color on them, sentiment, as well as document and company identifiers. Computext currently covers 20+ items (ex. Sales, Inventory, Cost of Goods Sold, etc.) with the expectation of expanding to all items covered by Compustat.

Computext is the next step in training your Large Language Models (LLMs). While LLMs are a black box, Computext’s rules-based approach allows for a defined and established structure. Computext provides ready-to-use labeled data which allows companies to skip LLM development costs and enhance their LLMs. Computext’s labeled insights on a variety of topics from regulatory documents and earnings call transcripts provide users with a quick and easy way to analyze textual data.
