Continuum GRC, a leading cyber security governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) firm, is allowing organizations to create a free custom anti-harassment policy powered by its IT Audit Machine (ITAM) GRC software, the company announced today. The company is offering the free policy in support of the #MeToo movement.

“The #MeToo movement has shone a much-needed light on sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace,” said Michael Peters, CEO of Continuum GRC. “Additionally, insurers that sell employment practices liability insurance that covers sexual assault and harassment suits are now demanding that employers critically examine and rework their anti-harassment policies, often significantly.”

Continuum GRC has a long track record of helping companies achieve and maintain compliance in the cyber security space, so launching an anti-harassment module in ITAM was a natural fit. Offering it free of charge was the right thing to do in light of the importance of the #MeToo movement.

A recent CNBC/SurveyMonkey survey found that about half of small business owners currently have a formal anti-harassment policy in place. Businesses with 50 or more employees were far more likely to have a formal policy in place (85 percent) than businesses with zero to four employees (39 percent).

“All businesses that have employees need a comprehensive anti-harassment policy, and it needs to be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect changes within the company as well as the legal landscape,” Peters stated. “The free ITAM module automates this process and walks organizations through the creation of a comprehensive anti-harassment policy, step by step. Then, ITAM acts as a centralized repository of the organization’s anti-harassment compliance information moving forward.”

Continuum GRC’s ITAM is a cloud-based GRC IRM solution that integrates IT governance, policy management, risk management, compliance management, audit management, and incident management. Its user-friendly self-help modules encompass the full spectrum of regulatory and industry data security requirements, including FedRAMP, SSAE 18, COBIT, ISO 27001, SOX, FINRA, NFA, FFIEC, PCI, GLBA, HIPAA, CMS, NERC CIP, DFARS, and other federal and state mandates.

“Continuum GRC has a long track record of helping companies achieve and maintain compliance in the cyber security space, so launching an anti-harassment module in ITAM was a natural fit,” Peters noted. “Offering it free of charge was the right thing to do in light of the importance of the #MeToo movement. Sexual harassment and discrimination need to be obliterated from the workplace.”
