Cook Island Tourism North America Launches "Awake to a New Paradise" Multi-Media Consumer Marketing Campaign
Los Angeles, CA, September 20, 2016 (Newswire.com) - “Awake to a New Paradise,” a new multi-media consumer marketing campaign aimed at promoting premium and luxury travel to the Cook Islands has recently been unveiled by Cook Islands Tourism North America to capitalize on the introduction of Air New Zealand’s new Boeing B777-200 aircraft premium options commencing from Los Angeles on Saturday, December 3, 2016.
“The integrative platform is geared to those travelers with a high degree of interest in aspirational travel and who seek indulgence related travel experiences,” says General Manager John Petersen of Cook Islands Tourism North America.

Adds Petersen, the launch is perfect timing, as “Awake to a New Paradise” is featured in the September 2016 issue of Global Traveler Magazine, which coincides with the Cook Islands being named “Best Island Pacific Rim,” as part of the magazine’s 2016 Leisure Lifestyle Awards.
The campaign is being promoted to select target markets via online digital banner advertising, via e-newsletters, e-blasts, and webinars. From banner advertising, potential travelers are enticed to click through to a specially designed landing page that explains the “Awake to a New Paradise” proposition. The special landing page is part of Cook Islands Tourism USA and Canada websites and is viewable at http://paradiseincookislands.com/indulgence or by visiting www.AwakeToANewParadise.com. Links at the top of the page feature indulgence packages, fine dining, upscale accommodations, and adventure activities, visitor attractions and brochures.
It includes and coincides with Air New Zealand’s inauguration of its large capacity airplane, the Boeing B777-200 that will begin flights between Los Angeles and Rarotonga in December. The airline will offer superior inflight service that underscores its reputation as one of the world’s leading carriers as rated by Conde Nast Traveler. The 10-hour overnight flight will begin departing Los Angeles on December 3, and lands lagoon-side at Rarotonga International Airport.
The campaign promotes three passenger options that include:
-
Business Premier, with 22" wide leather armchair and separate ottoman footrest that doubles as a visitor's seat; luscious Kiwi cuisine paired with New Zealand wines; a flat bed that coverts to a 6’ 7.5 Bed with large cotton pillow, duvet and sleep sheet.
-
Premium Economy, offering more legroom with the largest seat pitch in its class and 50 percent more recline than economy.
- Economy Skycouch, providing a seat that converts into a flat surface for rest, relaxation and play.
Visitors to Paradise in Cook Islands Indulgence can see The View from Above, exclusive Virtual Tours that provide views of the stunning beaches of the Cook Islands in 360° on both desktop and mobile devices. See Te Manga (the Highest Point on Rarotonga), Aitutaki, regarded by many as the most beautiful lagoon in the world, and Cooks Landing in Atiu, the Actual Location where Captain Cook's sailors came ashore when he discovered the Islands, are also featured. The tour shows the range of luxury accommodations at 4.5-5 Star Luxury Resorts, where visitors will find the country’s finest cuisine and discover the exotic destination’s flora and fauna before partaking in myriad adventure-oriented private tours and excursions.
About The Cook Islands
Rarotonga, the main island, is an easily accessible and pristine tropical South Pacific paradise. It is essentially an “all in one” island resort ringed with all choices of lagoon-side accommodation from home stay to 5 star and everything in between, restaurants, convenience stores, and boutique shops. Upon arrival, visitors find themselves in a lagoon-side resort in next to no time. Getting around is also easy by renting a car, scooter, bicycle, or commuting on the local bus. Just a 45-minute flight away from Rarotonga is the alluring island of Aitutaki, referred to by many notable travel writers as having “the most beautiful lagoon in the world.” Aitutaki also offers a great range of resort accommodation. Once in the Cook Islands, the time of discovery begins, with many options for the adventurous: paddle boarding, kite surfing, diving, snorkeling, interior-island hiking tours, swimming in crystal blue lagoons, and lively local craft and food markets held each Saturday morning. According to General Manager Cook Islands Tourism North America, John Petersen, “Cook Islanders just love to meet visitors. What a truly unique experience that is for North Americans who are fortunate enough to discover this wonderful paradise.”
