"Cool Catholics" Dance "The Cross"

Former Alvin Ailey dancer choreographs a new line dance for the 'hit' song, "I'm Catholic Cool." Catholics come home to a brand new beat!

"A message with movement is a message remembered," says Kimberly Milbourne, choreographer of the new line dance called, "The Cross."

Inspired by the theme song, "I'm Catholic Cool" for the project with the same name, many Catholics are singing a new tune and dancing a new step now that The I'm Catholic Cool Project has breathed new life into the Catholic faith.

On Easter Sunday at Christ Our Hope Catholic Church in Lithonia, Georgia, eight simple dance steps will blaze a trail to renewed faith and a return "home" for many Catholics around the world.

"When I listened to E. Walter Smith deliver the first verse of the song I was inspired by the fact that he speaks to "how" we pray as compared to most songs saying "that" we pray. The difference being that once you show someone how to do something they are more inclined to accept your invitation. The whole goal of the project is to invite Catholics to stay and/or come back to the faith," says Milbourne.

The Cross was choreographed so that almost every Catholic could participate in this dance of praise, worship and celebration. The fundamental movement of the dance is The Sign of the Cross. Symbolic of the Catholic faith and recognized world over, it will be one of the few popular line dances that actually have a meaning.

To participate in the official introduction of The Cross and to meet Kimberly Milbourne, E. Walter Smith featuring The ICC Choir and Friends, and Catholics from over 38 countries ranging in age from newborn to 85:
