Costa Rica's Talking Sloth Goes Hollywood

Costa Rica takes to the big screen this summer by promoting "the happiest country in the world". The Institution of Costa Rican Tourism is encouraging North American visitors to experience this lush country during May to October.

Costa Rica's promotional trailer will be seen from Montreal to Los Angeles in over thirteen hundred movie theaters this summer. The goal is to attract more visitors to this popular tourist destination during the quieter, green season and to encourage visitors to enjoy the country's capital city, San Jose.

Continuing the successful Gift of Happiness campaign, the new trailer shows wide smiles and beautiful settings. International advertising agency, 22 Squared, has focused on capturing an authentic experience with flashes of adrenalin-rushing surfing and zip-lining combined with traditional Costa Rican crafts and trades. The message...Costa Rica is the place for a real vacation and its capital is a genuine attraction.
The Institution of Costa Rican Tourism (ICT) is already tapping into the huge resources of social media networks for its own Visit Costa Rica and Without Artificial Ingredients campaigns. Their mascot, a cute, talking sloth, is responsible for a half a million social interactions alone. Pinterest, Instagram and a new iPad app will further the positive promotion of the country.

If the suspense is too much, watch the sneak preview on YouTube (http://youtu.be/TCyw7OKLBug). Don't be caught by surprise! This effective campaign is going to require booking hotels and rental vehicles (http://vamos4x4.com/vamos/long-term-rentals/) further in advance to avoid any disappointment or increased fees.

Whether one is planning to see Man of Steel or The Wolverine this summer, get the popcorn and soda early, so one doesn't miss Costa Rica's latest visual celebration before Henry Cavill or Hugh Jackman appears on the big screen. Costa Rica (http://vamos4x4.com/vamos/blog/category/activities-events/) may not be Latin America's answer to Hollywood just yet, but this could all change soon enough! Watch for more updates.
