Council for Education Argues State of California Breached Contract With US Department of Education
LAS VEGAS, March 7, 2018 (Newswire.com) - On Feb. 8, 2018, the Council for Education (CED) notified the U.S. Department of Education that the CED believes the State of California to be in breach of its contract in the administration of the federal student loan program under Title IV. To address this, CED will be having a Skype Meeting Broadcast on March 13, 2018. The intent of the meeting will be to answer questions regarding the matter.
CED is an advocacy organization for borrowers of federal student loans. It is calling for the California state auditor to conduct an audit into the state’s administration of the federal student loan program. On Feb. 27, 2018, the Joint Legislative Audit Committee (JLAC) did not direct the California state auditor to investigate an alleged breach of contract to assure U.S. Secretary of Education Secretary, Betsy DeVos, that the integrity of the federal student loan program is protected from fraud and misuse of funds. CED believes that the fraud may total over 4.8 billion dollars owed to borrowers of federal student loans.
CED will discuss how a breach of contact directly impacts individual federal student loans.
CED will charge an online registration fee in the amount of $49.99 per guest registration.
CED is accepting corporate sponsorship as part of a series of online educational workshops beginning at 150K per ad subscription.
Seats are limited to 10,000 guests.
