Couple Wins Free Engagement and Wedding Rings

Online, December 20, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The future is looking brighter than ever for one young couple, and it all began with a simple raffle drawing that took place on Thanksgiving Day. While attending a charity benefit put on by the local chamber of commerce for the Valdosta, Georgia township, Peter Priester and his girlfriend of eight months jokingly entered into the annual Steel's Jewelry engagement and wedding rings giveaway. Two weeks later there was a knock on the Priester's doorway.

"When I called my girlfriend and told her the news, she simply could not believe it. She thought I was kidding at first."

When Anastasia Tally arrived at the Priester household, she quickly found out that this was no joke. The camera crews from local news stations were a tip-off. They caught her every expression as she walked from her car out onto the front porch, where everyone was waiting to greet her.

The Steel's reps explained that they fairly and separately pulled their names from the raffle bin that very morning. There is no stipulation on couples winning both prizes, so the pair was the clear winners of the drawing. Never in the history of the fine jewelry giveaway have two people that were dating won both prizes. The diamond engagement ring and matching wedding rings were directly handed over to the eager couple.

"We have not been dating all that long, so this something I thought we would talk about and hold onto for a future date," said Tally. "I never, ever thought Peter would ask me to marry him right then and there, in front of all of those cameras, no less!"

Cameras were rolling as Priester dropped to one knee and proposed with the diamond engagement ring from Steel's Jewelry. Tally (of course!) said "Yes!" Congratulations to a happy and very lucky couple.
