Coveted Award for Brand Leadership in India to Prodipta Sen At the 10th Indira Marketing Excellence Awards 2011

Online, March 22, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The Indira Group of Institutes held the 10th edition of its prestigious Indira Marketing and Excellence Awards, in which various corporate organisations and individuals were honoured for their outstanding roles in the fields of marketing and brand building. The event was conducted at the spacious Indira National School grounds in Wakad recently.

The Chairperson of the Indira Group of Institutes, Ms Tarita Shankar and the Group Director, Prof. Chetan Wakalkar gave away the awards. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Tarita Shankar observed, "The marketing awards have had an eventful journey of ten years." Prof. Chetan Wakalkar added, "The Indira Group has come a long way from a modest start. The Marketing Excellence Awards are a special occasion at Indira." The awards were conceived by Dr. R.L. Bhatia, CEO, Fun & Joy at Work and had the theme, 'Circle of Life' for 2011. A live band playing on the background kept company to the proceedings and the theme 'Circle of Life'. Padmashree Ms. Lila Poonawalla, former CMD of Alfa Laval Industries received the Lifetime Achievement Trophy at the hands of Ms Tarita Shankar and industrialist Mr. Arun Firodia. Dignitaries from various sectors walked the red carpet to receive the honours accorded to them.

As a grand culmination of the ceremony, Mr. Prodipta Sen, VP, Marketing, Corporate Affairs & Retail, Alpha G:Corp, who is one of the forefront and most recognized figures of modern Indian retail, was presented with the most coveted trophy of the evening, "The Brand Leadership Award" by Mr. Anuj Puri of JLLM. This award is a symbol of Excellence and a tribute to brand leadership in an ever-changing marketing scenario in India. They began their musical performance with an enchanting presentation of the title song of the film 'Dil chahta hai' and went on to belt out item after item from their kitty of work. I am going to give you many hit songs tonight", declared Mahadevan, who was seen striking an immediate rapport with the zealous crowd. When felicitated with a Puneri Pagadi and shawl by Sarita Wakalkar, trustee of the Chanakya Education Society, Loy said, "I am wearing this head gear for the first time and given the motive behind these awards, it is a perfect fit."
