Crafty Devil Readies Holibob For Beta Launch

UK web app specialist Crafty Devil is preparing to launch Holibob - the output of the company's groundbreaking #CraftyHack initiative.

Belfast web app developer Crafty Devil, is approaching the half way point in the company's #CraftyHack exercise, designed to 'stress test' the company's operations and better assess the service it provides to customers.

The month long initiative sees Operations Director Phil Norton become a 'customer' of the company, as the Crafty Devil team seeks to design, develop and launch a holiday booking app, targeted at senior managers and HR professionals. And to make #CraftyHack even more realistic, it's taking place alongside client projects too.

"During the past fortnight, we've researched the application, specified, designed and coded the product and written a product launch and market entry strategy. We expect to launch the resulting app for beta testing shortly, which will be branded 'Holibob'.

"The experience gained has been invaluable in assessing how we operate as a business, identifying what we do well and of course discovering opportunities for improvement.

"It's also been a useful opportunity for us to further develop and refine our organizational skillset, through tackling and resolving unfamiliar problems. For instance, branding and brand development is something, which normally would be presented to us by a client, as a fait accompli. However, on this occasion we had to devise our own branding... with a little help of course from our friends, who chose 'Holibob' brand from a number of options presented via an online poll."

However, even when the product launches, the #CraftyHack experiment is not yet complete.

"In devising #CraftyHack, the primary output was not the Holibob app - important as that is - but instead, the opportunity to review our organizational effectiveness and the level of service we deliver to our customers.", says Phil. "Following the launch of the app and consistent with our commitment to continual improvement, we'll be reviewing how we approached we task and identifying opportunities to further enhance the level of service and support we provide to our customers."

The Holibob app will launch for public beta testing shortly and will be available from the new Holibob website at http://www.holibob.com. Cloud based, Holibob is primarily designed for use by managers working in small and medium sized organisations, who simply don't require the features, benefits and costs which typify more elaborate systems.
