Creaform's 3D Body Digitizers Unravelling Human Morphology in Worldwide Scientific Project

Creaform is proud to announce that its 3D Body Digitizers are generating outstanding and valuable results for a large-scale scientific project on human morphology led by the University of Calgary.

Creaform, a world-class company in 3D technology and engineering services, is proud to announce that its 3D Body Digitizers are generating outstanding and valuable results for a large-scale scientific project on human morphology led by the University of Calgary.

From the Capturor system to the most recent Gemini, these 3D body digitizers have been of great help for the project, not only for the top-quality 3D images they yield but also for their portability and adaptability to the various field conditions where the scans take place. The University of Calgary, along with other two American universities have been studying human genetics and morphology for the last few years as part of a scientific project whose results are of great value for the medical field. These body digitizers have proven essential for the study of the genetics of the human face, cleft lip and palate of thousands of Tanzanian children as well as the study of human morphology on thousands of American children of different ethnic groups.

"Creaform's 3D Body Digitizers have been put to the test in various challenging conditions for these studies and they have stood a tremendous advantage for their portability and durability", says Professor Benedikt Hallgrimsson of the University of Calgary. "Data quality has also been largely generous, allowing us to apply state-of-the-art geometric and morphometric techniques. We are very happy with how these digitizers have performed given the demands we have placed on them."

Formerly InSpeck's technology, today Creaform's 3D Body Digitizers since Creaform acquired InSpeck last January, these products and the value they bring to the clients speak highly of how successful their integration to the Creaform family has been; a stage very well completed.

Studies of this sort, where body digitizing is needed, become an area where Creaform's recently acquired technology increasingly excels.
