The Credit Union of Atlanta (CUA) has teamed up with the 3rd Annual CHOZEN AWARDS (CA) to honor community activists, tastemakers and notable individuals who contribute to the diverse fabric of the City of Atlanta.

"Atlanta has grown from a sleepy town to the 'Empire of the South'," says Tarra Jackson, (Interim)President/CEO, of the Credit Union of Atlanta. "This transformation all happened because someone dared to dream. Here at CUA, we have big dreams too. From a small one office establishment to a nearly $60 million organization, CUA continues to aspire to offer financial products and services that cater to our members' personal and business financial needs."

"CUA has long been a stakeholder to the citizens of Atlanta. As a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), we strive to be industry leaders in the areas of community development, access to credit and financial literacy," says Cassandra Brown, Assistant Vice President of Marketing/Business Development of the Credit Union of Atlanta. "As a committed partner of programs like the CHOZEN AWARDS, our involvement goes beyond a photo opt; it includes sweat equity and support in the many community related endeavors throughout the city."

The CHOZEN AWARDS committee welcomes the support and significant presence of the 82-year-old Atlanta financial institution.

"We're excited about this partnership with the Credit Union of Atlanta, since they're more than just another sponsor to us," says Liberty, Founder of the CHOZEN AWARDS. "For us this is a marriage between the people's bank, and the people's community awards program. Together we will have a greater economic and social impact on the City of Atlanta."

Goodwill, great shoes and environmental responsibility will lead up to the annual awards ceremony and cocktail reception at Blue Mark Studios (892 Jefferson St NW, Atlanta, GA 30318). The highly anticipated affair takes place on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 7:30 p.m., with the return of the "Gold Carpet." This year's event series supports, 40 Girls and Some Shoes, a non-profit organization designed to provide shoes for those that need it most, the homeless of metro Atlanta. CA's goal is to collect 1000 pairs of shoes for the charity. Operation CHOZEN kicks off the month of March with 31 Days of Community Service, where District 2 City Councilman Kwanza Hall will preside over the proclamation presentation on March 5th. Local associations, patrons, community activists, and entertainers will lead teams of volunteers and clean areas like the Old Fourth Ward, Washington Park, and areas within the Atlanta BeltLine. On March 16th, 'CHOZEN to be GREEN,' will expose event attendees to the latest green products and services, and in honor of Women's History Month, on March 27th, six women who have made a considerable impact in Atlanta will be recognized at the 'Women of Distinction Brunch,' while CA provides a forum for young women to connect and be inspired by leading entrepreneurs and executives.
