ROCKLEIGH, NJ, December 1, 2009 - Crestron announces the release of its new DVPHD High-Definition Annotator with Guidebar™ Technology (DVPHD-GB). High-definition annotation allows presenters to write or draw over live computer and full-motion HD video images using a touchscreen or mouse. The intuitive touchpanel functionality of the Guidebar puts the annotation palette plus source and room controls right at the presenter's fingertips. Full 1080p video preview and the Guidebar on the same screen deliver a simple, highly efficient platform for even the most non-technical speaker. With constant HDCP authentication to assure very fast switching of HDMI signals, the DVPHD can display up to eight sources simultaneously, and each video window is fully scalable and independently controllable in real-time, with dynamic transitions, graphics and text.

The Guidebar conveniently resides at the top or bottom of the presenter's screen without obscuring the 1080p video image(s), and enables immediate access to all the essential annotation tools, such as brush sizes and colors, as well as audio volume adjustment, source selection, and room lighting controls. The audience sees full-screen HD video with annotation, dual window HD display for side-by-side comparison of related images, or annotation over multiple sources at the same time.

The DVPHD uniquely features custom configurable, multi-format inputs to manage and display combinations of any signal type, including HDMI and DVI with HDCP, and scales its output perfectly to match the native resolution and aspect ratio of high-definition display devices. Featuring Gennum Visual Excellence Processing™ with TruMotionHD™ fully adaptive deinterlacing, the DVPHD achieves exceptional image sharpness and resolution from SDTV, HDTV, and computer sources.

Remote annotation capabilities allow as many as 90 individual touchpanel users to draw over the same image, supporting interactivity between multiple participants. According to Vincent Bruno, Crestron Director of Marketing, ""The Crestron DVPHD is the most flexible, scalable and powerful annotation tool available."

Just like any Crestron touchpanel, the Guidebar is completely customizable in appearance and functionality. The Crestron DVPHD Configuration Tool provides a simple, online form that enables system designers to configure the DVPHD and generate a bill-of-materials. For integrators, configuring inputs and outputs on the DVPHD is simplified using sync-detection for analog RGB and video sources, and EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) for HDMI and DVI sources and displays. The DVPHD configures itself automatically to match the format, resolution and scan rate of each input and display, to achieve optimum quality.
