Curtis Mock Reveals Forthcoming Release of New Feature For Health Club Marketing Software Ultimate Fitness Marketing

In early 2012, Curtis Mock released Ultimate Fitness Marketing, his all-in-one health club marketing program. Originally UFM included a very effective member referral tool, but Mock will soon release an update to the tool to make it even better.

"Health club marketing is all about creating systems," says Curtis Mock, fitness industry marketing expert and one of the minds behind Ultimate Fitness Marketing software. "A system that a lot of clubs use is asking current members to refer their friends and family as potential new members. Within UFM is a powerful tool designed to make referral processes much more effective, but we've found a way to make the process even better, and we'll be releasing the update over the next few weeks."

Ultimate Fitness Marketing is an all-in-one, integrated health club marketing solution for fitness businesses that includes many key pieces of a solid marketing plan: an email newsletter, email marketing campaigns, lead capture forms, a business partnership program, a Facebook Fan Page posting tool, along with referral tools to make it easy to get new footsteps in the door. The main purpose of UFM is to provide the resources to do many of the marketing tasks that the business might already be doing - or know they should be doing - but at a much lower expense and time commitment. One of those resources, the Member Multiplier, was very powerful when a skilled salesperson at the club took the time to learn to present it well. However, it wasn't being used often enough because it did require that the member already have a fair amount of trust in the club, along with the time to sit down with a staff member and go through the referral process.

"Even though the original process was still pretty streamlined, clubs were still not quite getting the benefit out of it that we knew it could produce, so we looked at what we could do to make it an easier process. We removed much of the need for human intervention, and we put the member in the driver's seat...with the club still controlling the direction of the vehicle, of course," explains Mock. "The original system required sitting down with the member and having them login to their email account or Facebook account on the club's computer and sending an offer to their friends and family to join them at the club." Knowing that people can sometimes lean toward being very protective of their privacy, Mock took that into account when going back to the drawing board on this feature of the health club marketing tool.

Mock described the new system as being a much less sensitive process. It won't require the member to login to their accounts in anyone's presence; members can refer friends and family from the comfort of their own home. "It's probably a good idea for the introduction of the program, rewards, and initial sign-up to happen at the club, in person, but from there the member can take it and run with it," says Mock. "The member is given a referral link that they can share with anyone at any time, via email or social media. They can offer a free trial pass to anyone they wish, and if that person joins, the system tracks the referring member as well as the salesperson, to make referral program tracking easy. This is really going to do wonders for a health club marketing plan."

Current subscribers to the UFM health club marketing software will get the upgrade as soon as it is ready for wide release, which is expected in the next few weeks. There is no cost to use the new referral tool and no fee for the upgrade. Once a health club subscribes to UFM, their monthly subscription rate is locked in for the life of their subscription, even as new features are released.
