CWPS Hires IT Industry Veteran as COO - Dan Smith to Focus on Growth

CWPS is pleased to announce that Dan Smith has joined the company's executive team as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mr. Smith comes to CWPS from Verizon, where he held leadership positions for 21 years.

CWPS is pleased to announce that Dan Smith has joined the company's executive team as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mr. Smith joins CWPS from Verizon, where he held leadership positions for 21 years in finance, engineering and operations. As COO Mr. Smith will be responsible for shaping and implementing CWPS business development and market expansion plans.

Mr. Smith recently served as Verizon's Vice President - Business Markets. His organization focused on Federal agencies and large enterprise customers. He successfully led the delivery of multi-billion dollar IT programs, including mission critical Federal contracts supporting our nation's intelligence community.

As the executive responsible for the delivery of complex Verizon Business products and services to the U.S. Federal Government and large global commercial enterprises, Mr. Smith provided managed IT services, systems integration, satellite services, and other professional services to Verizon Business customers across the globe. He was also the Business Operations Director for Verizon's Federal Network Systems organization.

Mr. Smith began his career in 1989 as a project manager in Major Account Operations. Throughout his 21 years with the company and its many transformations, Dan has provided leadership in finance, engineering and operations, and has been a key player in the implementation of the company's global data networks, satellite services, and voice services as well as customized engineering services.

Mr. Smith received a Bachelor of Science degree in international affairs from the United States Air Force Academy in 1980. He earned a master's degree in procurement and materials management from Webster University in 1987.
