Cyberfortis to Launch Newsletter Aimed at GRC Professionals: Cyberfortis Today
Executive training organization will publish relevant cybersecurity news and analysis
ARLINGTON, Va., November 6, 2019 (Newswire.com) - CyberFortis, which provides cybersecurity training for compliance, risk, and governance professionals in the financial services industry, will begin publishing a weekly newsletter, CyberFortis Today, which will serve cybersecurity news and analysis to the professionals within financial institutions who work to ensure compliance with the numerous laws and regulations concerning cybersecurity, data protection, and privacy.
Technology designed to prevent data breaches continues to grow in variety and sophistication. Yet, the number of security breaches continues to rise. According to the CyberRisk culture survey by Willis Towers Watson, 87% of corporate cyberattacks happened due to untrained staff. Governments across the globe have begun creating laws, regulations and policies mandating that businesses adopt safeguards and procedures to protect their technology infrastructure and the data that it holds. Financial institutions are particularly affected because of the interconnected nature of the industry. Several laws passed in the last year have specifically stated that business leaders - including board members and c-suite executives - are legally responsible for the cyber resilience of their organizations, and that they, along with the entire organization, should receive proper training commensurate with their positions.
“Data protection and cyber risk professionals have diverse titles, and their responsibilities are in constant flux to keep pace with the laws, regulations and standards that set the pace,” says CyberFortis’ Director of Training and Education, Joy Meason Intriago, who was the founder of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS). “It is likely that we shall continue to see a wave of new duties and internal realignments across the corporate landscape as organizations attempt to find the right mix of functions and responsibilities.”
In addition to creating and implementing cybersecurity training, CyberFortis also serves as a resource where cybersecurity professionals and c-suite executives can find the news and information they need to remain up to date in an ever-changing legal and technological landscape. CyberFortis Today will be another valuable tool for professionals in the fight for data privacy and cybersecurity.
