Dallas Appellate Attorney Chad Ruback Honored in D Magazine's 2012 "Best Lawyers" List
Ruback is the youngest appellate attorney ever to have been included in D Magazine's "Best Lawyers" list.
Online, May 8, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Dallas appellate lawyer Chad Ruback has earned a place on D Magazine's 2012 list of "The Best Lawyers in Dallas." Ruback is the youngest appellate attorney ever to have been included in D Magazine's "Best Lawyers" list. He was included on the list in 2005 and has been included every subsequent year that the list has been published. This is true of only four other appellate lawyers.
"Because only other Dallas appellate lawyers were eligible to vote, my selection was truly a great honor," said Ruback. Ruback attributes his success as an appellate lawyer to the fact that he has always limited his practice to handling appeals and trial court motions likely to be at issue on appeal.
Ruback received a business degree from the University of Texas and a law degree from Southern Methodist University. After law school, he served as a briefing attorney at the Fort Worth Court of Appeals. After a few years working in the appellate section of a large law firm, Ruback formed his own appellate firm in 2005. Ruback's firm represents both plaintiffs and defendants on appeal, regardless of whether they won or lost at trial.
Ruback has served as president of the 2,500-member Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and on the board of directors of the 10,000-member Dallas Bar Association. Articles written by Ruback have been published in the Dallas Business Journal, Texas Lawyer, and the Appellate Advocate (the journal of the State Bar of Texas Appellate Section). Ruback has been a featured speaker of the State Bar of Texas Appellate Section, the Dallas Bar Association, the Collin County Bar Association, the Frisco Bar Association, the Plano Bar Association, Southern Methodist University School of Law, and Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.
Based on peer review by Dallas lawyers and judges, Martindale-Hubbell has given Ruback an "AV" rating, signifying "very high to preeminent legal ability." Ruback is a barrister in the William "Mac" Taylor Inn of Court and a Fellow of the College of the State Bar of Texas. Additionally, Ruback has been inducted into the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas. Ruback is licensed to practice in the Texas Supreme Court and all Texas Courts of Appeals.
