Damage Prevented At Historic Ohio Building By Use Of Epoxy Pipe Lining Process
Plumbing Professors uses innovative epoxy lining techniques to repair 150 year old vertical pipes without disturbing historic building whatsoever.
Online, August 8, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Columbus, OH, Plumbing Professors was awarded Job of The Year for their epoxy lining work on rain water conductors in a historic State of Ohio building. In need of repair were 700 feet of water conductors that were encased in architectural limestone before the civil war. Working after hours and "behind the scenes," the crew completed the project on schedule, with virtually no disruption to the operation of the historic building. The State of Ohio operates a number of offices out of the building, so it was imperative that the work be completed without interfering with the offices daily activities.
While originally designed to reline horizontal pipe, Plumbing Professors used proprietary techniques that allowed them to reline the vertical pipes using the patented epoxy lining system. Normal repair of the rain water conductors was out of the question on the 150 year old building, as normal repairs would have required disturbing a structure that was built before the civil war. Once such an old structure is disturbed, it is almost impossible to rebuild and restore it to its original undisturbed condition.
Nu Flow presents this award for challenging lining projects that are completed using their pull-in-place lining system. "We are proud to be recognized for our work in Ohio, and are honored to receive Job of the Year for our efforts," said Pete Cunningham, Plumbing Professors Sales Manager. Pete adds "this award confirms the innovation and dedication our install team demonstrated during this challenging job." The team operated "around the clock" doing some work during the day when the building was occupied, as well as working through out the night when conditions demanded it and the building was empty. The State of Ohio was delighted that virtually none of the buildings occupants were even aware that major building renovations were in progress. "That's exactly the way we planned it" adds Pete Cunningham.
