Damage-Resistant Sheet for Flat and 3D Lamination Introduced
A new "4065MP" grade of damage-resistant sheet for membrane pressing and flat laminating of wood core substrates has been introduced by Boltaron Performance Products.
Online, June 11, 2010 (Newswire.com) - A new "4065MP" grade of damage-resistant sheet for membrane pressing and flat laminating of wood core substrates has been introduced by Boltaron Performance Products.
The sheet is a proprietary PVC/Acrylic alloy offering impact resistance of 18 ft lbs/in. (953 J/m) and broad chemical resistance, allowing removal of grime and graffiti using strong cleansers.
It is intended for surfacing of flat and routed MDF components of store fixtures, kiosks, contract furniture, checkout counters, displays and other end products utilized in commercial and institutional environments.
Available in unlimited colors, woodgrains and patterns, and standard and custom textures, the sheet is offered in thicknesses down to 0.018 in. (0.46 mm) yielding greater impact resistance than high pressure laminates, melamine and thermofoils.
The sheet can also be brake formed, machined, adhesive bonded, miter folded, heat welded and mechanically fastened without cracking, allowing secondary operations and the production of brackets, housings, racks and other parts that match laminated components in color, texture and UL 94 V-0 fire rating.
Extreme formability reportedly allows the sheet to conform to compound curves, sharp corners, detailed profiles, undercuts and routed logos/graphics as well as wire management holes routed through the substrate, while eliminating the seams and delamination associated with HPL and LPL.
The company produces over 50 specialized grades of PVC, PVC/Acrylic and CPVC sheet products in gauges from .003 to 3.0 in. (.076 to 76.2 mm) for membrane pressing, laminating, thermoforming and fabricating of components for building products, aircraft interiors, rail/mass transit vehicle interiors and diverse commercial/industrial applications.
