Dana Point Community Cycling Foundation Presents Boys & Girls Clubs of Capo Valley with $10,000

Dana Point Community Cycling Foundation Presents Boys & Girls Clubs of Capo Valley with $10,000 to go towards providing academic success, good character & leadership and healthy lifestyles programs and services.

For the fifth year in a row, the Dana Point Community Cycling Foundation (DPCCF) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley have partnered to promote cycling as a healthy activity for children and families at the Breakaway from Cancer Dana Point Grand Prix of Cycling. The DPCCF is pleased to present $10,000 to the local chapter of the Boys & Girls Clubs and hopes to continue the partnership into the future. James Littlejohn, Executive Director of the Club, is grateful for the contribution. "On behalf of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley I would like to thank Dana Point Community Cycling Foundation for their generous donation. This donation will go towards helping us provide academic success, good character & leadership and healthy lifestyles programs and services."

The DPCCF and Boys and Girls Club will partner again in December for Operation Homework Holiday (OHH). OHH is a homework incentives program designed to encourage youth to be responsible students. Without this program, many members of the Boys & Girls Club would not receive any gifts for the holiday season. The Dana Point Community Cycling Foundation, with the help of local bike retailer Buy My Bikes and local bicycle clothing manufacturer Hot Shoppe Designs, is donating more than 50 bicycles, jerseys, and helmets to the Boys and Girls Clubs this holiday season. "The Dana Point Community Cycling Foundation is proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley to give back to the youth of this area," says Steven Weinberg, Boardmember of the DPCCF. "We look forward to continuing our partnership during the holidays during Operation Homework Holiday. One of these days, I hope I am able to ride with them around Dana Point's 6 square miles of paradise!"

The Breakaway from Cancer Dana Point Grand Prix is recognized as one of America's premier one day professional races, and has quickly gained accolades among athletes and sports fans as the best professional cycling venue on the West Coast. In addition to offering world class action on the race course, the DPGP featured a Kids Zone run by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley and safety instruction courtesy of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
