Dancelympics to Raise Funds for Bus to Show
Online, February 13, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Bus to Show nonprofit, which uses bus trips to reduce intoxicated driving, is throwing a fundraising event that involves you, your money, and your shoes.
I'm not talking about your Steve Maddens or your Air Jordans. I'm talking about your dancing shoes. This event, which is not unintentionally synchronized with the Winter Olympics, is called Dancelympics. As you might deduce from the title, it is like the olympics but for dancing. It's a dance contest.
This contest will help fund sober rides to the next big concert that may or may not involve fuzzy mental states and loud noises. Help us get the night started on one of Bus to Show's awesome bus rides.
Celebrity appearances may or may not include Bull Murray and Peyton Manning. Partying with us is free, but contest entry costs $10 with an additional $5 for extra categories. Prices may vary according to unforeseen circumstances. The winners will be chosen by our panel of groovy judges. Top 3 performers in each category will receive cash prizes. Additionally, there will be a Silent Auction with prizes donated by local businesses. To sponsor email [email protected]
Categories include B-Boy/B-Girl, Hip-Hop, Freestyle, LMFAO SHUFFLE, Twerk, Michael Jackson, Oppa Gangam Style, Modern/Interpretive, Swing, Pulp Fiction, Endurance, Goofy, Best Dressed, Group Routine, and more.
Community business sponsors for this event include: Rooster Magazine, The Infinite Monkey Theorem Urban Winery, Suerte Tequila, Sterling Rice Group, Hapa Sushi, and more.
Join us Feb. 20 at 9:00 p.m. at the Bohemian Biergarten in Boulder to compete in Dancelympics or if you like to watch people attempt the worm. Your dance adventure is waiting. Discounted contest entry is available on line at dancelympics.net/calendar
