Danforth Center Host Author of Caught in the Middle

Online, May 17, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Richard C. Longworth, Senior Fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, author of Caught in the Middle: America's Heartland in the Age of Globalism will be the featured speaker at "Seeds of Change," on Wednesday, June 8, 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, 975 N. Warson Road. The event will be hosted by members of the Danforth Plant Science Center's Leadership Council, a diverse group of regional leaders dedicated to making St. Louis a world center for plant science. Following his remarks, Longworth will be joined by a response panel for a thought provoking discussion of the region's efforts to reinvent itself in the new global economy. Panelists include, John F. McDonnell, retired chairman, McDonnell Douglas; Denny G. Coleman, CEO St. Louis Economic Council; Derek K. Rapp, CEO, Divergence, Inc.; and Jack L. Oliver III, chairman, Bryan Cave Strategies.

Richard Longworth is a senior fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and former Distinguished Visiting Scholar at DePaul University. He is the author of the book, Caught in the Middle: America's Heartland in the Age of Globalism, published in 2008 by Bloomsbury USA, now out in paperback.
