The new printer series expands Datamax-O'Neil's B2B solutions in mobile POS, route accounting and direct store delivery applications
Online, November 1, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Datamax-O'Neil, a leading manufacturer of stationary, vehicle mount, portable label and receipt printers, announces the availability of a new version of its Apex portable printer series that is Bluetooth compatible with Apple® iOS 5.0 and 6.0 iPhones®, iPads® and iPod® Touch products.
The popular Apex portable printer is now available as an Apple® certified MFi printing solution to meet the growing trend of B2B applications that utilize Apple® iOS devices. "The 2, 3 and 4 inch printing capabilities offered by the Apex i series address the expanding presence of Apple® iOS products that are making their way into enterprises around the world that require a printing solution," said John Murphy, senior product manager for Datamax-O'Neil. "Mobile POS, route accounting and direct store delivery applications are increasingly seeing the benefits of utilizing Apple® iOS devices, and the Apex i, with its high reliability, ease of use and light weight, is a perfect complement. In particular, the Apex 4i will be useful printing reports that a technician can leave with a customer while retaining a copy for the main office."
The Apex i series printers come equipped with a D-O Toolkit that will help users quickly adapt the printers into their enterprise environment. The Toolkit offers several intuitive features including a "scan" module that will link the Apple® iOS device to the Apex i printer, allowing it to read and display various printer statistics, such as battery voltage, timer, temperature, remaining print buffer, and other important information. The kit also includes a "configuration" utility, a "presentation" module that includes demos for printing receipts, forms, logos and barcodes, as well as an "information" module, which provides information about Datamax-O'Neil and the Toolkit application.
"As more businesses look to enhance their 'customer's experience', the ability to add convenience, reduce wait times, and provide greater efficiency is becoming essential to growing and retaining the customer base," Murphy explained. "The Apex i series will contribute to the expansion of effective mobile applications around the world."
