David J. Park, DO, FAAFP, FACOFP dist., Assumes Presidency of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians

The American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) announced David J. Park, DO, FAAFP, FACOFP dist., has begun his one-year term as president after being installed in the office during the ACOFP's 60th Annual Convention & Scientific Seminars that recently concluded in Orlando.

"The focus for my presidency is to make a lasting impact to benefit our current and future members who themselves will positively impact our profession and the patients we ultimately serve," said David J. Park, DO, FAAFP, FACOFP dist., president of ACOFP. "This will be accomplished through working collaboratively with other stakeholder organizations, enhancing engagement opportunities with our membership, and growing the ACOFP both in numbers and in the strength of our collective actions."

Dr. Park is committed to serving the 25,000 physician, resident, and student members of the ACOFP and the profession it serves. For his full-time job, he currently is Vice President and Founding Dean of the new Rocky Vista University - Montana College of Osteopathic Medicine located in Billings, Montana. Prior to relocating to Montana in July 2021, Dr. Park led the development of Rocky Vista University's Southern Utah additional location campus, where he served as the Campus Dean for five years. A champion of formal medical education for over 20 years, Dr. Park has been recognized nationally for his commitment to osteopathic medical education through numerous awards. 

An active physician member of ACOFP since 2005, Dr. Park has served on numerous committees and leadership roles prior to holding the office of president. He became a fellow of the ACOFP in 2010 and won the Fellows Most Outstanding Scientific Paper award. Dr. Park became a distinguished fellow of the ACOFP in 2022. 

A graduate of NYITCOM, Dr. Park completed his residency training in family medicine at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he stayed on as faculty for four years before moving to Nevada in 2005. Dr. Park is especially proud to be the first ethnically diverse president of ACOFP and looks forward to a year of collaboration and growth for the organization.
