DCU Announces Digital Business Event for SMEs

Get Digital 2010 is a free mini-conference on e-commerce and digital marketing. This event has attracted speakers from Microsoft, Google, Facebook, PayPal, Salesforce.com, Edelman, Kantar Media and many innovative, influential Irish entrepreneurs.

Dublin City University (DCU) has announced a free half-day conference to encourage the adoption of digital business models and technologies among Irish SMEs.
The event, entitled 'Get Digital 2010', will be held in DCU Business School, in association with North Dublin Chamber of Commerce, announced the free of charge half-day conference that will host 24 speakers from leading Irish and international companies involved with digital marketing and e-commerce.
The Get Digital 2010 speaker lineup includes senior internet and marketing leaders from companies including Microsoft,Google, PayPal, Facebook, Salesforce.com, Kantar Media, Edelman and many others.

A number of Irish entrepreneurs and managers will also speak at the event, including John Dennehy (CEO, HR Locker), Ciaran McGowan (CEO, StaffBalance), Ciaran Crean (MD, Mick's Garage) and John Granville (sales operations manager, MyHome.ie).
The event is part of the DCU LINK Research Centre Techspectations initiative, which aims to accelerate greater digital participation by citizens, schools and SMEs.
"This is a great opportunity for Irish SMEs to get up to speed on the practical aspects of digital marketing and e-commerce", says Dr Theo Lynn, director of the LINK Research Centre. "More than 200 attendees are currently registered and we have moved to The Helix to give as many SMEs as possible the opportunity to engage with the university, DCU Business School and the speakers."
The inaugural event takes place Friday, 22 October, at DCU, Dublin 9, and the plenary session will be held in The Helix theatre, while three parallel breakout sessions in DCU Business School will focus on "Selling on the Internet", "Digital Advertising" and "The Future as a Cloud".
