Online, November 15, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The event, entitled 'Get Mobile 2010', will be held in DCU Business School, in association with North Dublin Chamber of Commerce on 17 November 2010 as part of the Innovation Dublin Festival 2010. The event is free of charge and will host 15 speakers from leading Irish and international companies involved with mobile marketing and m-commerce.
The Get Mobile 2010 speaker lineup includes senior management from leading companies in the Irish mobile marketing and m-commerce sector including Samsung Mobile Ireland, Zamano, ICAP Media, Return2Sender, Puca, Daft Media, Fern Software, Feed Henry and Adikat.
The event is part of the DCU LINK Research Centre Techspectations initiative, which aims to accelerate greater digital participation by citizens, schools and SMEs. Techspectations are also delivering free webinars weekly on topics relating to digital marketing and educational technology.
"Mobile marketing and m-commerce represents a significant opportunity for Irish businesses and one of the goals of Get Mobile 2010 is to demystify the mobile opportunity for them", said Dr Theo Lynn, Director of the DCU LINK Research Centre. "Over 230 attendees are already registered to attend and we welcome the opportunity for Irish SMES to engage with the university, DCU Business School and the speakers."
"DCU's strategic vision is to be a University of Enterprise and to have a transformational impact on Ireland's social and economic wellbeing. In the midst of these difficult economic times, universities can play an important role in stimulating innovation, both through their R&D agenda and through other organisational and marketing processes, " said Professor Brian Mac Craith, President of Sunday Times University of the Year, Dublin City University. "Get Mobile 10 is the second of five free mini-conferences that DCU Business School and the LINK Research Centre are delivering, with significant support from DCU and its local partners, North Dublin Chamber of Commerce. These events advise businesses and entrepreneurs, in the M1 corridor and beyond, on the practical first steps to adopt new mobile technologies and techniques in order to market their products and services effectively and rapidly position themselves on the road to recovery. They also provide a real opportunity for DCU, our faculty and students to engage face-to-face with our local business community".
Get Mobile 2010 takes place Wednesday, 17 November, at DCU, Dublin 9. The plenary session will be held in the DCU School of Nursing, followed by three parallel breakout sessions in the DCU School of Nursing and DCU Business School focussing on "Mobile Marketing Strategy: Getting Started", "Mobile Marketing Tools" and "Designing and Developing Apps for Novices".
